2021 Internship
Great Lakes Flyway Project is a new Chicago-based not-for-profit that leverages the power of storytelling to educate the public about birds and advocate for their protection. Great Lakes Flyway Project's objectives through 2022 are to: 1) Tell individual, local, personal stories about birds; 2) Amplify key issues affecting bird populations; 3) Establish its organizational infrastructure. Great Lakes Flyway Project believes that birds make our world a better place and that every species, every individual bird, is a gift.
The documentary film "Monty and Rose" and the This Week in Birding newsletter are projects of the Great Lakes Flyway Project. We are looking for an intern to assist us through at least September 2021, when "Monty and Rose 2" will be released. Potential tasks include:
-Social media: Develop content calendar and provide regular posts on Facebook (2 accounts), Instagram and Twitter.
-Communicate the release of "Monty and Rose 2."
-Web content management.
-Writing: Regular newsletter contributions, topics and content to be determined.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding writing skills and an interest in the environment and/or birding. A plus would be skills in photo, video and/or graphics.
The internship will take approximately 10 hours per week and can be completed remotely. A stipend is available. Duration and terms are flexible.
Turnstone Strategies is providing initial administrative support and funding for Great Lakes Flyway Project.
